ORDER:

For quite a long time there has been a felt need for enhancing pilgrim experience especially in some major temples where pilgrim traffic is very high.  These  temples are Srisailam, Srikalahasthi, Kanipakam,  Dwaraka Tirumala, Annavaram and Simhachalam.

2)         The famous Jyothirlinga  at Somnath in Gujarat has a sound and light show erected on the back side of the temple. This show is very popular with all tourists who visit Somnath.  The sound and light show enables both children and adults to learn about the history of Somnath, the traditions of the temple, the struggles that Somnath temple underwent over a thousand years etc.  A lot of knowledge about the country’s cultural, religious and historical heritage is thereby passed on to the next generation in a easy and enjoyable manner.

3)         Keeping this in view, it is proposed to undertake the development of a Sound and Light show Project in each of these above cited major  temples.  For this purpose, the following steps have to be taken by the Commissioner of Endowments and Executive Officers of these seven temples.

a)         Identify the most appropriate location for the sound and light show.

b)          Commissioner, Endowments to finalize the agency to erect the sound and light show in each temple duly following transparent and fair procedures.

c)         Prepare an excellent script which covers the entire history of the temple, the traditions and religious significance of the temple.

d)         The script has to be got prepared in Telugu and English languages.

4)         The Commissioner of Endowments and Executive Officers of the  temples cited are hereby directed to take necessary steps so as to set up the Sound and Light show programme within the next 12 months.
